These photographs were produced during a research visit to Istanbul, a city shaped by movement, exchange, and layered histories. Throughout the trip, photography became a way of recording moments of observation that paralleled the research process itself: fragments of everyday life encountered while moving through urban space.

Unlike traditional documentary photography, these images do not seek to provide comprehensive representations of the city. Instead, they attend to moments of transition. Ferry crossings, glimpses into domestic interiors, and the constantly changing skyline become reflections on mobility, connection, and urban transformation.

Istanbul occupies a unique position between continents, cultures, histories, and futures. The photographs respond to this condition of in-betweenness. They capture the city not as a fixed entity but as a place of circulation, where public and private worlds intersect and where everyday routines unfold amidst ongoing change.
