Art is Life: A Short Series from Ghana

Art is Life is a short series from a four month stay in Accra, inspired by the time I spent working in a preschool there and from travels around the country during my stay. There is creativity and community embedded into everyday life there in a way I have not experienced in the West, perhaps with roots in the functionality of traditional African art forms such as dance, sculpture, ornament and clothing. These photos were taken with black and white film and later scanned for digital viewing.
